Francesco is co-founder and CEO of NcodiN. He is a scientist, entrepreneur and innovator in the field of nanophotonics. With a PhD in optoelectronic nanodevices and over eight years of experience in cutting-edge photonics research, he has worked at the forefront of silicon photonics, optical memories, light amplification and III-V on silicon nanostructures. His journey has taken him through prestigious institutions such as CNRS, IBM, and C2N (Centre de Nanosciences et de Nanotechnologies), where he contributed to groundbreaking advancements in the field.

Originally trained as an electrical engineer, Francesco combined his technical expertise with a visionary approach to innovation. He has played a key role in developing ultra-small, high-efficiency lasers that are set to transform data processing and communication.

Passionate about pushing the limits of technology, Francesco is dedicated to solving some of the most pressing challenges in AI hardware and high-performance computing, enabling systems that are faster, more efficient and infinitely scalable.

Bruno is co-founder and CTO at NcodiN. He is a dynamic and proactive entrepreneur at the forefront of photonic developments, driven to harness the power of light for transformative applications in information processing and communication. His work spans the investigation of high frequency structures in lasers and fiber resonators, and advanced III-V on silicon nanocavities. With a perseverant and organized approach, he thrives in teamwork environments, constantly reconsidering challenges to achieve innovative solutions. His passion lies in bridging fundamental scientific discoveries with tangible technological advancements.

Fabrice Raineri is the co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of NcodiN. The technology at the core of NcodiN is a direct result of his extensive research work. Fabrice is also a distinguished professor in the Physics Department at Université Côte d’Azur, where he conducts his research at Institut de Physique de Nice. His academic journey includes receiving his PhD from Université Paris Sud and serving as a Postdoc at ICFO. He then spent 16 years as an associate professor at Université Paris Cité, conducting his research at the Centre for Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies.

His career highlights include significant contributions to the field of physics, such as:

• Pioneering research in nanophotonics and quantum optics, leading to advancements in optical computing and communication technologies.
• Authoring over 100 peer-reviewed publications in top-tier scientific journals, contributing to both theoretical and applied physics.
• Securing multiple patents for innovative technologies in optical devices and systems.
  Leading several high-impact research projects funded by prestigious national and international grants such as a European Research Council (ERC) Project awarded in 2017.
• Mentoring a new generation of scientists and engineers, many of whom have gone on to successful careers in academia and industry.
• Actively participating in international conferences as a keynote speaker and organizing committee member, fostering global collaborations in the scientific community.

His work exemplifies a blend of academic rigor and entrepreneurial spirit, contributing significantly to the field of physics and its applications.

Yacine Halioua is Head of Product at NcodiN, where he leads the product definition and development of disruptive photonic solutions for die-to-die optical interconnects.

He earned his Ph.D. in Photonics through a joint program between CNRS-C2N in Paris and Ghent University, where he focused on developing hybrid III-V nanolasers on silicon — a technology central to NcodiN’s approach. Over the past 10 years, he has built a strong track record across both major industrial players (Lumentum, HiSilicon) and agile startups (Spectricity), gaining end-to-end experience in the product development cycle — from design and prototype validation to industrialization and production readiness.

Carlo leads all Business Development activities at NcodiN. He has a solid, diversified, global career in the semiconductor industry. His experience goes from Business Unit Management to Strategic Partnerships and Sales. He initiated and developed success stories based on disruptive technologies, such as low-cost computing, silicon photonics and printed electronics. He worked for 28 years at STMicroelectronics in various countries, for 2 years at a start-up in France and in the last 7 years as a consultant, supporting international customers, mainly start-ups and early-stage companies. He is a mentor for Silicon Catalyst, Polihub at Politecnico di Milano and member of Business Angel Switzerland. Born in Milano (Italy) he holds a Master Degree in Physics from the University of Pavia and an MBA from SDA Bocconi in Milano.
